Text de prezentare a lucrării:
The project was designed for a young couple of doctor-entrepreneurs from Botosani, Romania that wanted to make something that will become a friendly fresh platform between doctors and patients and a perfect environment for their dental clinic.
The challenge was to keep the project on a budget and to adapt to the space that was initially designed to be a living space inside a flat, with a very long corridor. Having to do something about that I worked with basic principles of architecture: perception, light and texture. The vibrated wall made out of wooden played laths with lights hidden behind them that bounce off the glossy finishes, had the purpose of altering the perception of the corridor’s length, while being at the same time a space unifying gesture that connects the waiting room to the cabinets.
Starting from the functional needs of shortening the corridor and the need of bettering the visual unity between the reception hall and the cabinets, this gesture aims to represent the duality between the patient destined areas marked by the dark vibrated wood and the immaculate white of the doctors. Duality was used also in designing the waiting areas: a social oriented place in relationship with the reception desk and a more intimate place for the more nervous patients that need some prep talk away from the scrutinizing eyes of others (but also a place where doctors can take a coffee break without being a presence in the waiting room)
In order to induce a fresh and soothing calm effect the patients need so much sometimes ( :) ), I introduced some natural green accents into the furniture’s design .
